NER’s Own Elected National Vice Chief

Earlier this morning, Dan Higham, section chief of NE-3A, was elected the 2009 National Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow.

Dan is a member of Troop 221 our of Vestal, NY where he serves as an assistant scoutmaster.  He is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Otahnagon Lodge in Baden-Powell Council.  Dan is serving in his second term as section chief for Section NE-3A.  He has held many different leadership positions before section chief including, Committee chairman, Lodge vice chief, Lodge chief, and section training director.  He has worked with his council’s training multiple times as the senior patrol leader and as a staff member of the NYLT course.  Dan served on the national program committee to develop the program for Arrowcorps5 as well as being the Youth program director at the Shasta-Trinity project.  He has also been a staff member of many National Leadership Seminars.  Dan is a member of the Society of Human Resources and he is currently a sophomore at Oswego State University where he is majoring in Human Resource Management.
