My name is Matt Bell, and I have the privilege of serving as your 2015 Northeast Region chief. It is the Northeast Region Leadership Team’s vision to fulfill the purpose of the OA:
“To develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our Brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation”
Our primary method of doing this is through our National Leadership Seminar (NLS) and National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar (NLATS). In an effort to better accomplish this, the
Northeast Region is launching The Quest for 100. In honor of our organization’s 100th anniversary and our commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow, we want to have 100 participants at our upcoming NLS on April 17-19 at Camp Guyasuta in Sharpsburg, PA. This is something that has never happened before, and it will not be an easy endeavor.
The Northeast Region leadership team is proud to release a chenille commemorating the 100th anniverserary of the Order of the Arrow. 200 of these 4" chenille patches are made. At $25 each, they go to support programs in the Northeast Region such as the National Leadership Seminar, the National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar, and more! The social media craze has swept across the nation. On a regular monthly basis, 232 million people use Twitter and Facebook has over 900 million members. With so many people using these proven methods of communication, it is no coincidence that Section NE-6A chose to brand their leadership seminar with a hashtag. As Section NE-6A Chief Zach Sager explained, “It’s a name you won’t easily forget. It helps to promote #LEAD to Arrowmen in the section. It’s the kind of name that people will ask about”. With helpful training tracks, a top-notch staff and a quality experience, #LEAD was an event to remember.
It will not be the only event to remember though. Other sections have been putting on spectacular training events like #LEAD for years.
