Cub Scout Resources

The Northeast Region Order of the Arrow Task Force has developed resources for Sections, Lodges, and Chapters to utilize in their annual programs to assist them in supporting each Councils Cub Scout program. Below are promotional and training resources that can be used to promote the Order of the Arrow’s involvement in the local Cub Scout program.  Order of the Arrow Cub Scout Training and Promotions Guidebook
The Northeast Region Order of the Arrow Cub Scout Training and Promotions Guidebook outlines how to utilize various resources currently available to Section, Lodges, and Chapters at events. Different types of media such as movie files, training syllabuses, and print resources are listed. This guidebook introduces Arrowmen on how to promote the OA’s involvement in the Cub Scout program at either a one day or weekend event. Recommendations for involvement are also listed within this guidebook.

This one page promotional resource outlines how Arrowmen can become involved in a local Council Cub Scout program. Tips on how to become involved and resources that are available are included.

Lodge Cub Scout Service Guide
The Lodge Cub Scout Service Guide has been designed to aid lodges in the support of the Council Cub Scout program by the local Order of the Arrow Lodge. The 23 page guide includes many ways that each lodge can provide support to the program and includes the following chapters: Overview and Benefits, Chapter, Lodge, and Section Involvement, Cub Scout Ceremonies, Cub Scout Open House, Camping Events, Membership Recruitment, and Where to Go Camping

Order of the Arrow Cub Scout Support Tool Kit (Coming Soon!)
The Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow has released a Cub Scout Support Tool Kit with Arrowman Guide Booklet to aid lodges in creating and sustaining OA supported Cub Scout programs in all councils across the country. Scenes include Scene 1: Scouting’s National Honor Society, Scene 2: Tiger Cub/Cub Scout, Scene 3: Webelos Scout, Scene 4: Parent Orientation, Scene 5: Outdoor Program, Scene 6: Webelos-to-Scout Transition, and Scene 7: The Scout Opportunity. Also included is the Arrowmen Guide Booklet which includes three training syllabuses that involve the seven scenes above. The movie files are downloadable and available on www.oa-bsa.org.

Lodges providing Cub Scout Service Table Tent
This tri-fold table tent provides information on the goals of the Cub Scout program, the role of the Cub Scout Chairman, the benefits for Cub Scouts and Arrowmen, and what Lodges can do to support the program. This table tent can be placed at tables for dining hall meals and training seminars.

Conclave Training Initiative
The Conclave Training Initiative is a training program produced by the National OA Committee on topics of importance to the Order of the Arrow. Session 5 is The OA and Cub Scouting – The Order of the Arrow’s Role: This session discusses the Cub Scout program, introduces participants to the importance of supporting Cub Scouting and suggests ways that chapters and lodges can support Cub Scouting in their local councils. This session is ideal for Arrowmen interested in Cub Scouting and the role that the OA can play. This resource includes a PowerPoint presentation.
